Afghanistan reported 452 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to government data released Sunday.

The nationwide tally of infections has reached to 170,604 since the start of the pandemic, figures by the country’s health ministry showed.

The country also reported six related deaths in the last 24-hour period, taking the overall tally to 7,494 fatalities.

Also, 675 patients recuperated from the disease in last 24 hours.

With COVID-19 infections on rise, officials ask residents to follow health measures.

The COVID-19 pandemic has killed 5,809,664 people worldwide since it began in December 2019, according to NYT’s tally. 

More than 410.1 million people have been infected worldwide, the tally showed.
