A boy named Assadullah went to his friend’s home Monday night and then disappeared, said Hafiz Rashid, head of Helmand’s office of information and culture.
His dead body has been found in Greshk district of the province, he said.
The motive of the murder remained unknown but investigations were underway.
The information and culture official said the murder had criminal aspects.
There was no arrest made in relation to the matter.
