The national team U-19s set a target of 201 for their opponents in the group C.
Chasing a target of 201 runs, Papua New Guinea were bowled out for 65 in 20.5 overs.
Smashing 62 runs off 76 balls by the captain and 45 runs off 50 balls by Ijas Ahmadzai made noteworthy contributions.
Afghanistan will face Pakistan and Zimbabwe in next games in the group stage.
