Abdullah Sarhadi, the newly appointed governor for Bamiyan province, formally took office and started work today, November 11.
He is from Zabul province who served as commander of special unites during the first rule of the Islamic Emirate.
Mawlawi Anas Azizi was in charge of the local government before Sarhadi was introduced by interior ministry and formally assumed charge.
Earlier this week, the Islamic Emirate unveiled a list of new governors.
