Editor-in-Chief of Local Radio in Ghazni Injured in Armed Attack

Omid Azimi, the editor-in-chief of Sama radio was wounded Monday, June 21, after unknown armed men attacked, local officials said.

The motive of the attack was not clear, according to governor’s spokesman Wahidullah Jumazada, and efforts were underway to the hunt the perpetrators.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.

Targeted attacks, often unclaimed, have prompted people’s outcry who accuse government of failing to identify the culprits and to protect citizens.
