Both have discussed the peace process and support of the United Nations to process, said office of Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, who oversees talks between the government and the Taliban negotiation teams.
The U.N. Secretary General’s Personal Envoy hoped the agency will work with the reconciliation council and other relevant agencies to ensure peace in Afghanistan.
He added that dialogue is the only way out to the current problems, stressing on consensus to end the war.
Dr. Abdullah also briefed the U.N. envoy on the peace talks in Doha, increased violence and latest political-security developments.
It comes as there is yet a tangible progress in Doha talks and fighting has surged in between the warring sides.
