At least seven people were killed in bombing two minivans in west of the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Saturday afternoon.

Two Employees of Afghan Film among Victims of Western Kabul Attack

Among the dead were two employees of Afghanistan’s state-run film company, according to its director.

In a tweet on Sunday, Sahra Karimi, Director of the Afghan Film Organization said, Fatima Mohammadi and Tayyiba Musavi, who worked for the organization, were among the six killed in the first attack.

Their burned bodies were identified by their families in the forensic hospital of Kabul, she added.

Both employees of the Afghan Film were animators and were working on animation project for Afghan children, according to her.

Targeting a minivan, the first explosion took place around 3:00pm local time in the 13th district, west of Kabul city.

It was followed by another explosion which also targeted a minivan in the sixth district of the capital.

The initial reports indicated five people were killed in the explosions.

The death toll then rose to seven killed and six wounded.

In a statement released late Saturday, the Islamic State/Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack.
