NAI Voices Concern over Forced Termination of Employees by Some Media

Under the article 21 of by-laws of the establishment and labor law, organizations are not permitted to terminate employees coercively, Mujib Khelwatgar, Director General of NAI media watchdog, told TKG.

It violates by-laws and contradicts country’s labor law if any organization commits forced termination of its employees, he added.

The organization for supporting open media in Afghanistan calls on the Ministry of Information and Culture as well as the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to intervene and take action.

It comes as the last remaining American and NATO troops began withdrawing from Afghanistan May 1.

The pullout has seen a sharp increase in Afghan fighting.
