Maidan Wardak: 3 Killed as Military Chopper Crashes

Rohullah Ahmadzai, a ministry’s spokesman, spoke with TKG, saying a military helicopter of M-17 type has crashed in Jaghato district of Maidan Wardak province.

Three people on crew were killed and another one wounded in the crash, he said.

The cause of the crash was announced to be technical snags, according to the spokesman.

Taliban officials, however, claim they have brought down the chopper.

Zabihullah Mujahed, a spokesman for the Taliban, wrote on his Twitter the chopper was supplying military gear to Afghan forces and the fighters targeted it.

It isn’t the first time military helicopters crash in Afghanistan due to technical issues.
