Qari Hanan, member of the Taliban Red Unit, was arrested Tuesday in a government forces’ operation in Kohsan district of the province, read a statement by police media office.
According to the statement, the member of Taliban’s Red Unit was involved in most of the group’s destructive anti-government operations.
Qari Hanan had earlier been wounded in clashes with Afghan forces, said the police, adding he returned to Kohsan after treatment.
A number of weapons were also seized from the militants, it added.
There was no comment from the Taliban.
