Clashes erupted Sunday evening between men loyal to former commander of public uprising forces and a policeman in Maimana city, provincial capital of Faryab province, police said.
According to the provincial police spokesman, Karim Yourish, the policeman and a woman with him were killed in the clash.
Two women and a child were wounded, Mr. Yourish said.
The police spokesman said the cause of the clash was personal enmity.
