Subhan, a teenager, was abducted five days ago in Kabul’s Khairkhana area.
Subhan’s family was asked to pay $500 hundred to set him free.
Kidnappers also warned the child’s family they would kill Subhan if his family failed to pay the money.
No arrest has been made so far.
Security authorities, however, say they have identified the kidnappers and police efforts were underway to capture them.
