Afghan commando forces on Monday night set free at least 41 prisoners, including 19 military personnel, who were held as captives in a Taliban custody in Pashtun Zarghon district of the province.
According to the sources, seven Taliban fighters were killed and a number of weapons seized by government forces during the overnight operations.
Six motorbikes belonging to the militants were set on fire.
There was no comment from the group.
It wasn’t the first time Afghan forces rescue prisoners held by Taliban.
Prior to this, dozens of prisoners and hostages had been released from the Taliban custody in Afghan provinces.
