In a statement issued Monday, May 17, the ministry said as many as 65 Taliban fighters have been killed and 36 others wounded in Afghan forces raids in the past 24 hours.
According to the statement, the attacks were carried out in Helmand, Kandahar, Balkh and Baghlan provinces.
A number of the insurgents’ IEDs and weapons were also destroyed, the statement read.
There was no comment from the Taliban.
