A presidency statement released Friday said that President Ghani spoke with U.S. top diplomat Blinken on the Afghan peace process.
Secretary Blinken assured President Ghani of his country’s military, development, economic and humanitarian support to Afghanistan, according to the President’s office.
The U.S. senior official added the United States was committed to enduring partnership between the two countries.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani meanwhile said a focus of the attention will be paid on a new chapter of U.S.-Afghanistan relations in the foreign troop post-pullout time.
The two sides also discussed the Afghan peace process and the role of U.S. diplomacy and regional consensus in this regard.
