Local authorities in Afghanistan’s central Logar province announce the death of police chief for the first district of Pul-e Alam city, province’s capital, in an armed attack.
Unknown armed men on Monday evening shot and killed Shahpoor Ahmadzai, police chief of Pul-e Alam city’s first district, said head of provincial council Hassib Stanikzai.
Khalid Yaqubi, a former chief of the first police district of the city, was wounded in the assault.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
The perpetrators had managed to flee the area.
