Gunmen on Monday afternoon opened fire and killed three Afghan security personnel in Shor Bazar area, first district of capital, Kabul, said provincial police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz.
A police investigation was underway, according to the spokesman.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
Afghanistan is experiencing a nationwide spike in bombings and targeted killings.
