Coronavirus: Afghanistan Reports 234 Infections

Health ministry in Afghanistan on Tuesday, May 4, reported 234 new COVID-19 infections and six related deaths in the past 24 hours.

According to Afghan health ministry, as many as six more patients have died after contracting the disease, pushing the toll of fatalities to 2,654.

The new deaths were registered in Kabul, Kunduz, Laghman and Kunar provinces.

Also, as many as 234 new cases of infection were reported in the country, bringing the nationwide case count to 60,797.

The new infection cases were registered in Kabul and 16 other provinces.

Some 53,694 patients have recovered from the virus since the outbreak first appeared in China entered the country.
