A man named Sabawoon, who was said to be resident of Baghlan province, on Monday evening killed his brother-in-law after he opened fired at his in-laws in Dehdadi district of the province, said provincial police spokesman Adel Shah Adel.
His parents-in-law were wounded in the attack, according to the spokesman.
The man managed to flee the area, he said, and police’s efforts were underway to arrest him.
The man’s motive for the attack wasn’t clear.
It comes as targeted killings in Afghan northern Balkh province have soared, killing more than a dozen in the past one month.
