Helmand: Dozens of Civilians Rescued from Taliban Custody

Afghan commando forces have rescued as many as 28 civilians from a Taliban custody in Afghan southern province of Helmand, Defense Ministry said.

 In a statement, Afghan Ministry of Defense said these civilians were set free during an overnight operation Monday in Mosa Qala district of Helmand province.

At least six Taliban militants were killed and a number of weapons seized.

The insurgent group has not commented yet.

Earlier on Saturday, April 17, as many as 20 security personnel held in a Taliban custody were released in an operation in Khashrod district of southwestern Nimroz province.
