A police vehicle was targeted by an explosion Monday morning around 7:00 [local time] in Sabz Sang area of Qara Bagh district in Afghan capital of Kabul, provincial police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz said.

A member of security forces was killed and four others wounded in the attack, according to the spokesman.

Mr. Faramarz added that another IED was found and defused in the area.

Similarly in the sixteenth district of Kabul city, Afghan police forces found and defused a remote-controlled IED Monday morning.

There was no claim of responsibility for these bombings.

A wave of bomb attacks have once again soared in the country already torn by decades-long war and violence.

On Sunday evening, three security personnel were killed and over a dozen wounded in a car bomb attack in Paghman district of the capital, Kabul.
