Both discussed expansion of trade, security, economic and cultural ties between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, a presidential statement said on Monday.
Early on Monday morning, President Ghani departed for Tajikistan to attend the ninth conference of Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process.
He received an honorary Doctoral degree from Tajik National University during his visit there.
He also met with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs, on sidelines of the ninth conference of Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process.
Both discussed regional supports for Afghanistan’s peace process.
President Ghani is set to participate and speak in the Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process today.
