A policeman, named Jawed, was shot dead in an armed attack early today morning, said provincial police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz.
An investigation to probe the incident was underway, he said.
Police has failed to arrest the perpetrators.
Afghanistan, already torn by decades-long war and violence, has been gripped with targeted assassinations which are often unclaimed.
Government officials, however, have constantly pointing the blame at Taliban.
