The 02 Unit of the National Directorate of Security said in a statement released last night that its forces carried out the operation in Ghani district of eastern Nangarhar province.
Two people, said to be member of a group responsible for targeted killings, were also among the arrested suspects, according to the statement.
Another two members of the IS/Daesh were killed during the operation, it said.
A number of weapons were also seized from the militants, it further added.
The group has yet to comment.
