Local officials in Afghanistan’s western province of Ghor said the district governor for Taiwara, Mohammad Rafiq Alam, has been killed in a bomb explosion in the province.
The incident took place Saturday around 11:00am local time, said Arif Aber, spokesman for the provincial governor.
The explosion was caused by a magnetically attached IED known as sticky bomb, according to sources.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
