COVID-19 in Afghanistan: 10 Cases Registered

Health ministry in Afghanistan on Saturday (March 20) announced 10 new COVID-19 infections were registered in the past 24 hours.

Afghan health ministry’s deputy spokesman Mirwais Alizai said one patient has died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The toll of fatalities stood at 2,462.

Also, as many as 10 new cases of infection were reported in the country, bringing the nationwide case count to 56,103.

Some 49,723 patients have recovered from the virus since the outbreak first entered the country.

Afghanistan last month began its COVID-19 vaccination drive.

The vaccination campaign against the coronavirus pandemic was launched, with representatives from healthcare, media and Afghan forces receiving the first shots.
