A high-level delegation led by Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, departed for Moscow a day ahead of Russian-backed conference on Afghanistan.
According to a list published on social media, Afghan officials and political leaders who will attend the conference include: former President Hamid Karzai, Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum, former Vice President Karim Khalili, State Minister for Peace Sayed Sadat Mansoor Naderi, Speakers of the Upper and Lower Houses of National Assembly, Vice Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, Leader and two members of Hizb-e Islami political party.
A delegation representing the Afghan government will also participate in the conference. They are: Mohammad Masoom Stanikzai, head of the negotiation team, Matin Bek and Habiba Sarahi, members of the negotiation team.
Moscow is hosting a conference on Afghanistan peace this Thursday, March 18.
Envoys from countries in the region, the United States, as well as Afghan officials and political leaders and the Taliban have been invited to participate in the conference.
Officials from both the Afghan government and the Taliban are participating the conference.
