Moscow is set to host a conference on Afghanistan peace this Thursday, March 18.
Envoys from countries in the region, the United States, as well as Afghan officials and political leaders and the Taliban have been invited to participate in the conference.
Mohammad Naeem Wardak, spokesman for the Taliban political office in Qatar, said on Twitter that a Taliban delegation led by its political deputy will attend the summit.
Earlier on Saturday, Hamudllah Mohib, the Afghan National Security Adviser, told reporters that the Afghan government will be at conferences in Russia and Turkey.
It comes as peace talks between the Taliban and Afghan government representatives in Qatar have had no tangible progress in recent months.
