Dozens Killed or Wounded in Herat Car Bomb Attack

Tariq Arian, spokesman for the Interior Ministry, said a car loaded with explosives detonated near the 14^th police district of Herat city late last night.

He put the toll of casualties to eight killed and 54 others wounded.

There were children among the dead and wounded, he said.

Afghan officials are pointing the blame at Taliban, but the group has yet to comment.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
