Bomb Attack Foiled in Afghanistan’s Capital

A remote-controlled explosive device was placed near a mosque in Shah Shaheed, Kabul, Saturday morning, provincial police spokesman Ferdaws Farmarz said.

The bomb was found and defused by Kabul police, he added.

Afghanistan, already gripped by decades-long war and violence, has been witnessing a rise in bomb attacks.

The attacks, often without claim of responsibility, claims lives of civilians mostly.
