Two residents of Herat province’s Enjil district named Baz Mohammad and Asif were gunned down by unknown gunmen Wednesday around 4:20pm as they had left for another village in the district, said Ahad Walizada, the provincial police spokesman.
He added that they were on way when armed men opened fire at them.
Baz Mohammad, who was said to be a teacher, lost his life while his friend got injured in the attack, according to the source.
Sources have meanwhile said armed men wanted to abduct county councilor.
The motive of the murder was unclear, but police added investiagtions had begun into the matter.
