The suspect tried to plant a bomb along Ziaratja route in Akhundan area of the district, according to a statement of the provincial police chief.
The man was arrested and his attempt was failed, it added.
The man, who the statement said was a member of the Taliban, was planting the bomb to target Afghan security forces.
A security source spoke to TKG, saying another person who was the suspect’s colleague was also arrested by police.
The Taliban group has not commented yet.
