In a statement, the high reconciliation council said that both discussed the Afghan peace process, the Doha talks, and situation in Afghanistan as well as in the region.
The American top diplomat Secretary Blinken expressed concern over an increase in violence, according to the statement, urging an end to hostilities in the country torn by decades-long war and violence.
While the United States is reviewing the situation in Afghanistan, Mr. Blinken said Washington supports a just and durable political settlement and permanent and comprehensive ceasefire and urged for acceleration in the peace process.
The chairman of high reconciliation council has meanwhile reiterated on finding a solution through dialogue and achieve a comprehensive solution acceptable to all.
Dr. Abdullah also emphasized on the importance of regional and international support for achieving lasting peace in Afghanistan and called for a continued international support for speeding up the peace negotiation and ensuring a lasting peace in the country.
