Afghan commando forces have set free at least 42 prisoners, including 25 military personnel and 17 civilians, who were held in a Taliban custody in the Afghan northern province of Baghlan, said Abdul Hadi Nazari, spokesman for the 217th Pamir Army Corps.
They were released during an operation carried out last night in Central Baghlan district of the province.
The Taliban jail was demolished, according to the source.
Earlier too, dozens of prisoners were released from the Taliban custody in the province.
According to the military spokesman, it was second time Afghan forces release prisoners in Baghlan province.
The Taliban have not commented yet.
