Afghanistan Registers 22 New COVID-19 Infections

Afghanistan recorded 22 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, pushing its nationwide case count to 55,514.

Afghanistan Registers 22 New COVID-19 Infections

As many as 22 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, the health ministry shared the data on Sunday.

The country recorded no COVID-19 death during the same period. The toll stood at 2,427.

The new infection cases were registered in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Takhar, Faryab, Panjshit and Kunar provinces.

Also, three patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 48,395.

At least 1,814 tests were carried out during the past 24 hours-period.

Worldwide, 2,498,145 have died from the deadly disease and over 108.5 million more have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
