Afghan forces last night carried out air raids on Taliban militants in Zawa area of Khoyan district in eastern Nangarhar province, said provincial governor spokesman Ataullah Khogyani.
At least 31 Taliban were killed in the raid, he said.
As many as 17 Taliban were killed in air strikes in the area at the same day.
Another air strike targeted the insurgents in Shirzad district of the province, killing six of them.
The Taliban officials have not commented yet.
