In a statement, the 201st Silab Army Corps said clearing operations against the insurgents had been ongoing in the district since the past few days.
At least 22 Taliban militants were killed and six others injured after Afghan forces carried out air raids on them, the statement read.
Some villages were cleared, according to the statement, and a number of heavy and light weapons were also seized from the insurgents.
The Taliban officials have not commented yet.
