Afghanistan Registers 25 New COVID-19 Infections

Afghanistan recorded 25 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, pushing its nationwide case count to 55,445.

Afghanistan Registers 25 New COVID-19 Infections

As many as 25 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry on Thursday.

The country recorded five COVID-19 deaths during the same period, bringing the toll to 2,224.

The new infection cases were registered in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Balkh, Nangarhar, Takhar, Maidan Wardak, Badghis and Kunar provinces.

Also, 146 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 48,279.

At least 2,136 tests were carried out during the past 24 hours-period.

Worldwide, 2,353,649 have died from the deadly disease and over 107.3 million more have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
