Taliban fighters stormed a security base under Afghan National Army (ANA) in Kharistan area of the Afghan western province of Ghor, Noor Ahmad Kohnaward, the provincial governor, told TKG.
He put the toll of casualties to two army soldiers killed and another seven wounded.
Two insurgents were also killed and eight others wounded, the governor added.
The Taliban group has not commented yet.
