Out of a total 1,900 suspected people contracting the novel coronavirus, 27 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry Monday.
The country lost one COVID-19 patient during the same period.
The new cases of infection were registered in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Balkh, Nangarhar, Badghis, Kapisa, Kunar, Laghman and Ghor provinces.
The total deaths related to the disease has reached 2,414, according to ministry’s figures.
Also, one patient having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 48,042.
Worldwide, at least 2,316,434 have died and more than 106.1 million have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
