In a statement released Sunday, the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said FM Mohammad Hanif Atmar met with Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul, during which he called rocket attacks by Pakistani forces unacceptable and emphasized on addressing problems through dialogue.
Both also discussed the Afghan peace process, economic cooperation and boosting bilateral ties.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry condemned rocket firings by the Pakistan’s army on Sheltan district of eastern Kunar province and other parts along the disputed border between Afghanistan and Pakistan and called on the neighboring country to refrain from such attacks.
It called the attacks a clear violation of the Afghan national sovereignty, adding that it could negatively impact efforts to boosting bilateral relations.
It also warned Pakistan will be responsible for the consequences if its forces’ continue their rocket attacks.
Pakistani forces along the border have constantly launched rocket attacks targeting Afghan soil.
