The coronavirus total infections hit 55,121 in Afghanistan after it recorded 62 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours.

Coronavirus in Afghanistan: One Related Death Registered

Out of a total 2,025 suspected people contracting the novel coronavirus, 62 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry Monday.

The country lost one COVID-19 patient during the same period.

The new cases of infection were registered in Kabul, Nangarhar, Takhar, Kunduz, Bamyan, Badakhshan, Badghis, Kapisa, Kunar, Laghman, Ghor and Sarepul provinces.

The total deaths related to the disease has hit 2,405, according to ministry’s figures.

Also, 44 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 47,723.

Worldwide, at least 2,226,448 have died and more than 102 million have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
