Afghan President Ashraf Ghani last night met with Chairperson of High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah to discuss peace and related issues.
Dr. Abdullah said he hosted President Ghani in his house where they also discussed cooperation with international allies, needs for an inclusive national unity and consensus.
The meeting comes as peace talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government have become stalled in Qatar.
Release of more than 7,000 remaining prisoners of the Taliban from the government custody and removing leaders of the group from the U.N. blacklists are said to be the Taliban new preconditions—what the group has not officially confirmed.
