Speaking at the plenary session of Afghanistan’s Lower House of Parliament (Wolesi Jirga), speaker Mir Rahman Rahmani once again reiterated on the issue of equal pay for government employees, calling it House’s redline.

President Ghani removed the Finance Minister for no reason, according Mr. Rahmani, and downplayed the Wolesi Jirga’s decision.

He urged the government to put an end to the practice of ministries headed by caretakers.

A third draft of new fiscal year’s budget is scheduled to be referred to the Parliament for approval.

The first two drafts of 1400’s budget were rejected by House.

The reason Afghan legislators voted down the draft budgets were said to be unbalanced budget and failing to address the issue of equal pay for government employees among other reasons.
