Coronavirus in Afghanistan: Death Toll Rises to 2,378

The coronavirus total infections hit 54,595 in Afghanistan after it registered 36 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours.

At least 36 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry Saturday, adding the country lost five more COVID-19 patients during the same period.

The new patients died from the illness pushed the total deaths to 2,378, according to ministry’s figures.

Also, 31 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 46,943.

Some 882 tests were carried out in the past 24 hour.

Worldwide, at least 2,105,603 have died and over 97.9 million more have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
