President Ghani has warned if authorities in the northern Balkh province failed to find and rescue the 9-year-old Abdul Rauf kidnapped since nearly three months, he will fire all security officials in the province, President’s spokesman Dawa Khan Meenapal took to Twitter Saturday.

Abdul Rauf, aged 9, was abducted almost three months ago, with security forces yet to find him.

Authorities failure to find and free the child prompted protests across and outside the province.

Rauf’s family was asked to pay one million USD to set him free.

Footage shared on social media almost a month ago showed he was locked in a dark place naked.
