Afghanistan Registers 104 New COVID-19 Infections

Afghanistan recorded 104 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, pushing its nationwide case count to 53,935.

As many as 104 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry on Friday, adding the country recorded eight COVID-19 deaths during the same period.

The new patients died from the illness brought the total deaths to 2,336, according to ministry’s figures.

Also, 329 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 45,434.

At least 1,668 tests were carried out during the past 24 hours-period.

Worldwide, 1,992,406 have died from the deadly disease and over 92.8 million more have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
