At least five people were killed after a sticky bomb attached to a vehicle belonging to head of Kapisa’s council of clerics/Ulema detonated Sunday afternoon near Sayyad market, said the provincial police spokesman Abdul Shaiq Shuresh.
Another nine people were injured in the blast, according to the spokesman.
Mirwais Karimi, head of the provincial council of Ulema, has escaped the attack unhurt, according to the spokesperson.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
