As many as 203 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry on Sunday, adding the country recorded eight COVID-19 deaths during the same period.
The new patients died from the illness brought the total deaths to 2,230, according to ministry’s figures.
Also, 114 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 42,405.
At least 1,502 tests were carried out during the past 24 hours-period.
Worldwide, 1,831,238 have died from the deadly disease and over 84 million more have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
