The armed group took these civilians with themselves Saturday morning on way to Herat-Torghundi highway in Chehel Dukhtaran area of Herat province, said Atiqullah Wasiq, the caretaker of the provincial police’s media outlets.
Numbers of travelers taken by the group were not clear, according to Mr. Wasiq, but investigations were underway.
The Taliban have not commented yet.
